How long will it take to get my order?
Each item is completely made by hand and requires a several step process from start to finish; therefore, please allow 14 to 21 days for production of your piece during off peak times, plus shipping time. During seasons of heavy volume orders may not ship out until 4 to 5 weeks after the order is placed (these times include Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day). If additional delays are expected for any reason, you will be notified promptly.
What if I need my order sooner?
Please contact me if you need your order rushed and I will do everything I can to make sure you receive it in time for that special event! Rush shipping can also be added to any order for an additional charge.
Do you accept returns?
More than anything I want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Sample items available for purchase on my site can be returned within 7 days of delivery for a full refund, given they are in the original/unused condition and in original packaging. Please contact me to arrange your return and to discuss possible resolution of your concern. After that 7 day period, ability to return items is up to seller discretion. Any custom or personalized items are final sale and not returnable. This includes pieces featuring names, dates, quotes or monograms. The only exception is when an error is made on the part of the seller. Custom order errors, such as misspellings and incorrect dates that are made by the purchaser will be redone for a fee. Please check and recheck all spellings, dates, etc. for accuracy before finalizing your order. If ordering a ring, it is recommended that you have your finger sized by a professional jeweler. Returns of rings follow the same policy as above. Returned items will be refunded in the original form of payment. Shipping charges are not refundable unless the return is due to seller error. Please contact me if you need an item repaired. In many cases repairs may be done without charge, unless the damage appears to be due to improper care and usage.
What materials are used to make your products?
When possible, every effort is made to utilize materials that are either recycled and/or sourced from socially responsible companies or those utilizing fair trade practices. All handmade pendants and charms are made from either fine silver, sterling silver and or bronze. In some instances an overlay of pure silver or 22 Kt gold may be added as an accent. Metals used are specified in the description for each piece. In browsing samples, please be aware that any item can be recreated custom for you utilizing your choice of silver, white bronze or yellow bronze. The price of each custom piece will reflect the current market price for the metal that is used to create it. All clasps, chains and hand wire wrapped links are made using either sterling silver, gold-filled or bronze wire and is specified for each item listed. Beads used in designs are genuine gemstone (often hand cut and polished) and fresh water pearls. Some designs also may include Swarovski crystals, vintage Venetian glass beads, African trade beads, glass beads or other materials and will be specified in the description. Occasionally colorful dyed pearls and beads are used, so care should be taken to preserve their finish. Artwork is created using archival materials, museum quality paints and inks, and is finished with a UV protectant sealer where applicable.
If I place a custom order will my item look exactly like the original sample shown on your website?
I am happy to recreate an item you see on my site; however, please be aware that items will not match samples seen here 100%. All items are individually handmade from start to finish. Nothing is mass-produced. Each jewelry component is shaped and sculpted by hand, hand stamped or hand engraved for personalization, then after firing each piece is polished, oxidized to darken recessed areas and then hand polished again. Letters and numbers are hand placed and in most cases will not appear in exact straight lines. Pendants and charms are made from metal clay (not metal sheet, cast or machine made) so small little marks, divots, or areas of waviness are to be expected and actually add to the vintage/handmade feel of each piece. Small “imperfections” in each piece are what make each piece unique and special. These are not defects and are considered part of the “charm” in the charm. In my opinion, beauty has more to do with individual character than with perfection (both in art and in people). Just as my pendants and charms are not mass-produced, beads and other components are not typically mass produced either. Many of the beads used in my sample designs were obtained by a one-time purchase and may not be available again. If this is the case I will do my best to recreate your piece with the closest match I have available to the sample piece you have selected. When possible, I will sell you the actual sample piece. Like the general feel of my pieces, but not seeing exactly what you are looking for? I love to do custom work!!! Please contact me and we will design a custom piece for you with your own specially selected and personalized pendants, charms, beads, etc. For an additional fee, I will custom design an image for your own special pendant or charm.
How will my order be packaged?
All jewelry orders ship in an earthy/organic jewelry box wrapped in a pretty blue piece of fiber/ribbon. Items in the box are secured on a pretty handmade card insert, with business card and artist bio included. Organza keepsake pouches are available upon request for a small fee. All jewelry and artwork are carefully packaged for shipping to protect them from damage during transit.
How will my order ship?
I utilize USPS priority mail whenever possible. If not available in your area, UPS is an option. I only utilize trackable shipping methods. International shipping is available and shipping cost will be quoted based on destination. Jewelry ships flat rate, but artwork shipping fees are based on size, weight and destination.
How do I care for my pieces?
Jewelry should be stored aware from direct sunlight and humidity to prevent accelerated oxidation (tarnishing). All silver jewelry (both sterling and fine silver) tarnishes over time, although fine silver oxidizes at a much slower rate. Periodically, jewelry should be polished with a silver polishing cloth to bring it back to its original luster and shine. It is not recommended to dip silver to remove tarnish as this also removes the oxidation/ antique finish applied to emphasize the texture, design and raised/recessed areas of the piece. Jewelry should not be worn in the shower or when swimming. All artwork should be occasionally dusted to protect the finish. No other care is required.
